Outdoor Living: how-to SURVIVE a desert staycation

Outdoor living extends to every month of the year here in the desert and throughout Southern California. Even with the temps rising well over 100 degrees, it’s still all about relaxing, entertaining and COOLING off. Summertime staycations are enjoyed by our locals because we appreciate and build our lives around luxurious outdoor spaces.

When it’s hot we cool down with a jump in the pool or installation of a professional misting system. We add stool and bench seating in our pools, and patio covers, awnings and umbrellas to extend the shade.¬†When it starts to cool down, we turn on our fire features and outdoor heaters. About the only thing that keeps us inside, is the six or so days a year it rains.

Considering that we at Lockwood Interiors are not landscape architects, we appreciate the outdoor projects we have contributed to. Below are some of our favorite resort-worthy properties where Team Lockwood took our design team outdoors!
